I always love working with Heather Dixon of Army of Knitters. Not only are her designs beautiful, but she is also an awesome and fun person to be around. The passion she brings to her work is absolutely infectious; how could I not find that irresistible? Heather’s inspiration for the winter 2012 collection is the Catskill Mountains, so it made sense that to photograph this series right in her backyard (which is in the heart of the Catskills and has a breathtaking view). Here is how Heather describes the collection:
Inspired by the colours and textures of my adopted, home in Upstate New York.
Every morning I open my curtains to see the beautiful mountains, trees and wildlife.
I breathe in the fresh, cool air and feel at peace with the world.
We were a little pressed for time during this shoot because we wanted to capture as much of the gorgeous afternoon light as possible. We worked fast and really made the most of the time we had. I absolutely love the results from this shoot! Be sure to check out Army of Knitters’ website!
