I really love using my studio at the Shirt Factory in Kingston. It’s completely different than working in any other environment. I get to sculpt light exactly the way that I want it. I don’t have to compete with the sun, wind, rain, cold, heat, etc. Light is capable of doing some pretty amazing things if you can harness and shape it the way that you want. Working in the studio does present some challenges though. The biggest one is that my studio is basically a big (ok, moderately sized) white box; in order to make every single shoot that I have there look somewhat unique I have to change backdrops, lighting setups, props, etc. It’s a lot to consider!
This was a relatively short session that I did after work one day. I hope to be working in the studio (and on location) a lot more in the next coming months.
