I was super excited for Brittany and Andrei’s wedding even during our initial meeting. We discussed all sorts of details about their Locust Grove Poughkeepsie wedding. They are such fun and genuine people and I knew their wedding would be amazing. After getting to know them a bit better during their engagement session, I was even more excited!
Their wedding took place at Locust Grove in Poughkeepsie NY. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph Hudson Valley weddings because of the immense natural beauty there, the sprawling grounds, and all of its history. Some people may not know that Samuel Morse (whose house is at Locust Grove) was one of the founders of American photography. He learned the daguerreotype process directly from Louis Daguerre in France. He then took what he learned to America and taught the process to acclaimed photographers such as Matthew Brady (whose photographs of the civil war are an amazing document of the time).
I had such a great time documenting Brittany and Andrei’s wedding. It was such an honor (as it always is!) to be around such genuine and fun people in love!
Oh and all the amazing flowers and bouquets were created by the talented folks at A Night In Bloom. Check them out!
Here is what Brittany and Andrei had to say about my service (and their photos!) as per their review on The Knot:
We absolutely loved having Peter and Peg photograph our wedding. Peter is incredibly talented and captured our day and our venue exactly as we remember it. It was important to us to have photos that captured unscripted people and venue both indoors and outdoors. Every photo does that with perfect colour, lighting, and harmony. We are blown away by the detail and care that went into each shot. Having Peter and Peg at our wedding was like having friends there. They are friendly, professional, and simultaneously everywhere and nowhere. The personalised photo website makes it easy for us, our friends, and our family to view and order the photos they’d like and Peter’s prints are both beautiful and reasonably priced. It was also wonderful to be able to do an engagement session with Peter and Peg. This allowed us to get to know them better and feel more at ease and less on display on our wedding day.
