I say this every single time I do a photo booth at a wedding (although perhaps not so bluntly): do not get married without one!!! Everyone including parents, the wedding party, every single guest, and the happily married couple themselves have such a terrific time with it. The photo booth that I offer at weddings is somewhat different from your average photo booth. It’s basically a fully functional photography studio. There is an 8′ backdrop ( or as long as space allows), professional lighting equipment, props, a 27″ iMac tethered to the camera that guests can preview their photos on, and a lovely assistant that runs everything. Everyone that participates is given a business card with a URL that they can visit after the wedding to view and download the photos (and get prints if they want). I generally do not hand out prints at wedding photo booths for a couple of reasons:
1) Printing is time consuming and I think it’s better to get more pictures
2) Guests tend to damage and lose prints
3) You cannot easily share prints in our digital social networking world therefore rendering them much less useful than digital versions.
I build the web gallery immediately so that it is live the morning after (or the night of) the wedding. Guests are able to view, download, and share their photos on Facebook or elsewhere.
It is an insanely fun time and the pictures will last a lifetime (for better or worse!).
Check out the pictures and tell me you don’t want one!
